Suisei no gargantia

I’m kinda obsessed with the anime at the moment, since it’s been awhile that I’ve seen an anime with a lovely character design that doesn’t follow any manga, it’s an original production by Production I.G

It’s the story about a young, combat-trained soldier named Ledo (Red) who’s fighting against monsters (?) with his humanoid Chamber in space in order to protect Avalon, a flying platform where the humans can live in peace and reproduce themselves. (kinda funny explanation they gave in the anime) Not much is said about these humans except that they lost their home planet (Earth?) and had to escape. In search for a new home planet, they formed the Gallactic alliance. Ledo got lost during a battle and went through a black hole and woke up 6 months later on Earth on a floating island named Gargantia. Earth was suppose to be a dead planet with no life. Then he met Amy, and kidnapped her to secure himself from getting shot. He then noticed that he didn’t have to fight the people on Gargantia and is starting to learn about the people on Earth and their daily life.

I really love the story, and I’m looking forward to how it’s going to continue. Too bad it’s only 12 episodes, but a new manga will start as well so hopefully, we will se more about Gargantia in the future.

Gargantia, a great anime. I love the character design so much. Red reminds me a bit of Allen from D.Grayman.
